Charlie Speed Band DVD

A film of the Charlie Speed Band performing live at The New Roscoe in July 2005 is scheduled for summer 2006 release on DVD. This gig was a very special celebration of Charlie's return from illness and times when he it was thought he'd never perform again! The band were hot and Charlie, even though he had to sit down from time to time to conserve his energy levels, still managed to rock the house!

It was a great night, captured for posterity on DVD and due for release in summer 2006 on Sugarfree Records. Watch this space for further news.

On The Road Again

Charlie feels he is getting a bit of his life together again having struggled for the last 3 years with health problems. Only a handful of gigs have been possible during this time. One of the problems has been that Charlie has to dialyse 3 times a week. He will shortly be dialysing from home and, once this new regime of treatment is in place, he should have much more flexibility and energy!

He is looking forward to getting back on the road again - starting Sunday April 30th at the Rock & Blues Festival at the Picturedrome, Holmfirth. Also, Sunday 14th of May at The New Roscoe, Leeds. See the Gigs page for more details.

Charlie is also hoping to perform more dates with Steve Phillips, one of the best blues artists the UK has ever produced. Steve starts the night with his own wonderful blues show with Charlie joining him for a couple of numbers. The Charlie Speed Band then take the stage. These gigs are not to be
missed! Dates be announced in the near future.
